From the mouth of babes: the strong sense of entitlement

“Trust in the parking karma.” I admonished M as he started to fret about the parking situation on Black Friday. “When have I ever lead you wrong?”

I’m a firm believer in trusting the parking gods to guide you to a parking spot. My reward for being a believer is that I rarely have to circle long to get a spot and I often get rock star parking. M’s punishment for not being a believer is that he gets to circle lots and lots. When he’s with me I often have to squelch his skepticism.

On Friday we were in the middle of our routine argument discussion when C piped in from the back with an extremely well timed, if somewhat surprising interjection.
“We need Valet!”

I have a feeling I’m going to have trouble explaining the fine art of parallel parking to that one*.

* Minor reference to the movie Clueless, for those not quite as dorky as me who haven’t seen it a hundred million times.
