Swine Flu Vaccine debate shelved, temporarily

standard October 10, 2009 5 responses

After reading all the comments and thinking hard about what doctors had suggested I decided today to call the pediatrician’s office to schedule an appointment to have the girls vaccinated against Swine (aka H1N1).

They received 100 doses early last week and they have already run out. More doses will be available at the end of the month. Call back then please.

That, folks, in case you were wondering, is called irony. Sweet irony.

And so the debate is shelved for now.

Stay tuned for more excitement on the Swine Flu Vaccine Front! Dun, dun, dun…

  • Isn’t that hilarious! You wait and wait and wait. I actually tried to make an appointment for my kids the the (1) person who was able to do the shot in their office…was out with the flu. Hilarious right????

Oh yea, Hi…I’m Daisy. I came over from she’s connected and will be subscribing to your blog! Great reads.

  • You are welcome for all my sage advice. Funny, on the way to school today, I prayed that God clarify this for all the moms out there struggling with this. And that He cut the media hype so we can know what to do.

Yeah, I’m a little bossy with the Man upstairs.

Funny to read this post in light of that heartfelt talk. Sometimes He says yes, sometimes He says no, sometimes He says wait. (Like a real parent.)

    We wait!

  • Well, there you go. Decision made. 🙂

  • To be honest, I think this whole swine flu situation is a bit much. Why are so many people getting this vaccine, not even knowing what it really is? And the fact that we are spending so much time and money on it, when there are so many bigger problems out there like Alzheimer’s and breast cancer.

  • Just so you know, now EVERY TIME I hear of H1N1, I think of you. Every time. And it’s on the news all the time. And one of my kid’s brother and dad have it. And so I think about you just about all day.

Recently, my step-daughter-in-law with whom I was hoping to foster a relationship with said I was “obsessed” with her (did I tell you that already, because if I did then I must really be) because I commented on her blog about once every two months and wrote on her fb wall about as often…long, weird back story on that one (actually not long, just weird). So she unfriended me.

If she thinks I was obsessed with her, what would she think of me thinking of you every day all day?

Of course, I still don’t envy your parenting decision making. Hope it’s all clear by the time the docs actually get the shots.
