Weekly Winners – Back to normalcy

standard September 7, 2008 2 responses

Last weekend M drove my mother and sister to the airport and all of a sudden the summer was over. Poof. Just like that. One moment it’s all beaches and sand and the next it’s school calendars and lunchboxes.

I’m not sure I’m ready for the school year. Heck I’m not sure I’m ready for summer to be over. But taking a few fleeting pictures helped me get through the week. Lucky you, you get to see my favorites of the bunch. (For other Weekly Winners click here, you know, after you’ve seen my pictures.)

C was a big, big fan of the firetruck that stopped for a moment at the block party.

She wasn’t thrilled when she was told it was someone else’s turn.
So she got back in line and went up again, and again.

Then she found a swing to hang out on.

Check it out! The baby with no hair finally has enough for a few teeny tiny pigtails.
Have you ever seen anything cuter?

Even C is delighted with her sister’s new look.

Oh, wait, maybe she was just interested in whatever Little L was intent on too.
Whatever that was. A raisin? Their dad? A speck of dust floating in the sun?

And then it was the first day of school. And she begged and begged me to drop her off.
But at least she consented to one first day of school picture.
It’s a good thing I didn’t miss.

I snuck one other shot while she was gazing at Rosalia, the new class pet turtle.

Happy weekend everyone. Hope your September is also starting with a bang.
