Procrastination – It’s the name of the game

standard September 25, 2008 2 responses

My to-do list is loooonngggg. Really long. It’s filled with important work things, essential house care things, and pretty crucial medical things for the kids and for me.

For example, today I need to:
– set appointments for my asthmatic kids to get their flu shots.
– refill C’s asthma prescription.
– schedule my annual OB visit.
– work on a report that I’m writing for a client.
– work on an article I’m writing for another client.
– schedule a visit from the plumber for the massive leak in out kitchen.
– email a few dozen people.
– write three blog posts.
– clean the kitchen.
– make business cards for tonight’s event.
– update my blog roll.
– install the Wishpot button/widget on The Lemonade Stand.
– switch to my new planner.

Would you like to know what I have accomplished so far today?
– Killed a zillion flies.
– Called the plumber. (Hey, I was starting to get worried about the state of the kitchen wall.)
– Wrote a blog post. (This one. Enthralling wasn’t it?)

Uh… Yeah. That’s about it.

OK. Now, pray tell, does that make you feel better about what you haven’t yet gotten around to doing today? (Say yes, please! You know, so I can add it to my list of accomplishments. Kthnxbai)

  • I think you and I are in the same boat. Any words of wisdom for how to play catch up when today’s to-do list doesn’t get done? Good luck!
