When was the last time you had a dinner party?

standard August 11, 2008 1 response

Have I raved much about Twitter yet this week? I mean, you know, between the whining about my extra poundage and whatnot. No? Sweet.

Well, on Twitter, I’ve met some rocking people. No kidding. Smart, articulate people. And people who have kick ass ideas for promoting their blogs and their friends.

The latest of these brilliant ideas comes from my new friend at Barking Mad. She dreamed up an original way to get to know more bloggers. Lots more bloggers.

Come on, admit it, you have been itching for a few new great reads, haven’t you? I know you love me. I know you love that other chick. But meeting new people is good. No? Good.

Here’s the deal. We’re all going to have a Dinner Party. No, not with real food. Just food for thought. (Heh. I crack myself up.)

Basically you pick 10 bloggers you’d love to really have dinner with. It could be people who “know” you, or people who’ve never heard of you. Write a blog post inviting them to the party. Tell all your readers why you’re inviting these ten specific bloggers. Let the ten bloggers know you invited them. And then head over to this post at Barking Mad to put your link in the Mr. Linky.

In theory you’ll get lots of new traffic. In practice you’ll discover new blogs. Basically it’s a win win. So? What do you say? You in? Yay! It’s a party. I’m going to spend some time this week thinking of who to invite (If you want me to “invite” you, or if there’s someone you think really deserves the attention, leave me a comment!) and put up my post by the end of the week. Stay tuned!
