Fun Fact Friday meets Fit Friday!

The New Girl stole Fun Fact Friday from Tessie, and I love stealing things from The New Girl so it stands to reason that I would steal this from her too. Plus, I love sharing random facts about myself and my family. Aren’t you lucky?

* A friend and I once (read: a good ten years ago) used liberal amounts of green food coloring while making a yellow cake. We were trying to see if the cake would be less appealing if it was green. It wasn’t and I think about that cake all the time. And her oatmeal raisin cookies. I think about those all the time too.

* While we’re on the topic of dessert: The wife of the man who ran the horse riding camp I used to attend sometimes made us something she called Apple Snow. I’ve been meaning to get back in touch with them just to get the recipe. Is that weird? Is it weirder that I just looked him up to see if I could find their address and discovered that piano playing wasn’t just a little hobby to her. Dude, way to be a self centered teen brat. Now I’m even more shy about contacting them.

* I used to be able to read one or two books a week. That hasn’t happened since C was born and I discovered my love of writing. And yet I’m still acquiring books at the same rate. I have a lot of unread books. It causes me no end of stress and guilt whenever I pass my bookshelf.

I’ve had the most ridiculously intense couple of days at work to which I attribute my weight loss success this week. Journaling? Not so much? Water drinking? Does tea count? I had lots and lots of that. But stress so intense that you don’t even want to stress eat? That does the trick!
Next week? More stress, more drinking water and an attempt at more physical activity, be that dancing around the kitchen with the kids or talking short walks at work.

  • How cool! I take a few days off and come back to find I won something! Yay me! LOL

    I am soooooo not fit this week. I have been drinking water but my goal for this week is one coffee or soda with caffiene and then no more soda until I have had at LEAST a liter of water. If I can stick to that i will be doing good. I am also commiting to a salad for lunch every day instead of grazing on junk in between feeding children. Ha! I can do it…..

    I’d never heard of it before so I checked out several recipes and they were all pretty much the same, some just used more egg whites. Hope this is what you are looking for!
