And the sleep school party continues

What day is this? Day three? Day four? Is it sad that I’ve already lost track?

M seems to think that tonight was a win, though again I’m not so sure. I put the babe down somewhat drowsy and she was fine for a minute or two and then she started crying. I hunkered down on the couch with my laptop and might have hummed quietly to myself while she sobbed “ah ma! ah ma!” from the bedroom.

Her cries escalated, but never reached the fever pitch from yesterday. She was angry, or sad, but definitely not panicked. But still M took pity on me when he saw me biting down hard on my thumb and he went to soothe her a little. His first foray into the bedroom upset her even more, but during his second visit ten minutes later he replaced her pacifier and she instantly fell asleep. She’s moaned for a second a few minutes later, but she’s been asleep ever since.

So? A win? Or is she addicted to the pacifier? Was she just tired out? Would she have fallen asleep within seconds anyway? Will we ever know? Will this continually be a guessing game? Tune in tomorrow for more news from the Sleep School Front!
Actually, before that tune in in the morning for the Extraordinary Blog Exchange and finally read something more interesting than my woes about sleep and crying babies. Yay Blog Exchange!

  • Man. I remember those days well. I know it is hard but she will get it eventuallly. The Bman had to (I am weak) sleep with us for a long time. It was the only way to get him to go to sleep.

  • Honey, don’t worry about the pacifier! She won’t be sucking on it the day she gets married.

I think that was a total win. Gotta take them when they come.
