“At her age and size we should be seeing at least one good six hour stretch between feedings at night.”
“Oh, we are. She takes a bottle around 8pm, then has a snack at 10 and then she sleeps until 3am or so. After that she’s right back on a 3 hour feeding schedule.”
“Oh. Well. You’re going to have to wait at least 6 more weeks before she starts skipping that 3am feed.”
“I was afraid of that.”
“Yeah. Sorry.”
So there you have it. At least 6 more weeks before I get to sleep a little. Unless I can get myself in bed by 10pm, which leads me to the age old question:
What’s more important, sleep, blogging, or reading? And what about my poor maligned DVR? There’s only so much space on that hard-drive. Oh what to do, what to do?
Tonight? Tonight I chose sleep. Tomorrow? We’ll see…
You want to sleep mommy? Why? When we could be cuddling and playing!
Oh wow, I barely just finished those days (my son is 4 1/2 months). Is it at all possible for your husband to give a bottle to the baby for one of the feedings? That’s what we did and it pretty much saved my sanity. Good luck! And I definitely chose sleep. I would go to bed at 9 if you can believe it.
I would choose sleep too. I am definitely no good to anyone on too little sleep. And I remember I used to be SNAPPY with my BABY. How ridiculous. But so, so true. Get some rest!
Hi, I am visting your blog for the first time. I have a 6 month old…so it’s fascinating to read your blog.
Here’s a suggestion, you could try giving a bath to your little one just before the last feed. Helps them sleep a little longer. (It helped mine atleast). Bath or no bath there will come a time when your sanity will be restored!
