“After all we’re going to come get you tomorrow. OK?” M’s teasing tone came through loud and clear despite the noise of screaming children in the background. “We’re having way too much fun to leave.”
“Euh no, not OK. I understand that Pump It Up is fun, but I’m really ready to go home.” I replied as I finished packing my bag. “I’m not sure how I’m going to handle not having someone take my vital stats a bajillion times a day, but I’m willing to try it.”
“OK. OK.” M replied. “We’ll be there in an hour or so.”
After I hung up I looked over at my, no longer yellow, sleeping child.
“We’re going home baby. We’re almost out of here.” She didn’t stir. Her future Hollywood status made it impossible for her to show her excitement, she’s just too cool for base emotions.
