Before the amnio on Friday we got to have a good long look at the baby. As the technician counted numbers of arms, hands, feet, kidneys and fingers I asked her if there was any way she could see if we were having a girl or boy. She maneuvered her wand towards the baby’s legs and saw the fabled “three white lines”. She told us it was still very early and hard to say for sure, but she thought we might be having another girl.
For the last 15 weeks I’ve been convinced that we are having a boy. This pregnancy is completely different than the last. My cravings are different. I feel different. I even thought that gaining less weight was an indication that things are different. But it seems that I was mistaken.
It’s really a shame. She’s going to get teased a lot in school.
Maximilian is a tough tough name to carry for a girl.
