Pop goes the button on my jeans. Pop goes the button on my shirt.
It’s finally getting hard to conceal the belly.
Pop goes the belly.
Today I conceded defeat. I realized that even my favorite jeans no longer close comfortably. I’m happy I made it to 10 weeks at least, but this is the end of the road for regular clothes. (Obviously if I hadn’t mentioned it in yesterday’s post this wouldn’t be an issue yet. I clearly jinxed myself.) I dragged M and C to the mall to get something that will allow me to pretend a little longer that I can live without “real” maternity clothing. It’s a sort of tube top for my stomach that strategically allows me to wear my pants open without having them fall around my ankles. So far it’s working quite well, at least when it comes to letting me breathe and move around. As far as helping me conceal the growing belly, yeah, not so much. It’s a good thing it’s cold these days because I’m going to be wearing bulky sweaters and my fleece jacket for the next few weeks.
On the 29th we start prenatal testing, and hopefully no later than three or four weeks later we will be comfortable enough with the results to come clean about the pregnancy to everyone around us. So give or take six more weeks of baggy sweaters and large comfy jackets. Let’s just home we don’t get a freak warm spell…
