Let me ask you a question.Am I the only 30 something American woman who has never seen a single entire episode of Sex in the City?
Wait. Let me rephrase that. I know there are some people out there who don't even own a TV. Presumably they've never seen the show.
OK.
Am I the only TV addicted 30 something American woman who has never seen a single entire episode of Sex in the City? Because I've never seen it. I swear. I think I've seen 5 minutes here and five minutes there, but nothing more than that.
Brace yourself. What I'm about to say might be shocking to the obsessed masses.
I was never able to relate to the characters on Sex in the City. Nope never. I've never been into the high strung, high powered single woman on the prowl scene. I never had the kind of cash necessary to go grab a martini with the gals after work. I never had a one night stand. (No joke. I tried it once. Ended up marrying the guy and having two kids with him. I really was not cut out for flings.) I just didn't get the characters and frankly their story bored me. I can watch endless reruns of Frasier and Friends, but I couldn't bring myself to watch Sex in the City.
And so, deep breath, I'm not going to a Sex in the City party this week. I'm not going to see the movie. I'm not going to go visit a chat room to talk about my impressions. I'm not going to blog about it. Oh. Wait. Maybe I am going to blog about it. Whatever. I'm blogging about not blogging about it. That's totally different.
Now. If someone wants to discuss Iron Man, let me know. I have a lot to say about that.

I never could get into that show either...but then I haven't been a 30-something for some time now. :p
The series portrayed a beautiful friendship between women. I liked that. When Kerry's lover offered to help her with a down payment on her apartment, her girlfriends helped her instead. I liked that.
Having said that, chick flicks are often not that great. Too mushy. So I don't know if I'm going to see it either.
not quite 30 yet, but still don't plan on seeing it! not my cup of tea. :)
I didn't get into it until about the 5th season, when I was on maternity leave. With nothing better to watch during the day, I happened across it and got addicted to it!
I HAVE to see Iron Man. Hopefully tonight. Then we can discuss Robert Downey Jr's yumminess.
Nope, I've never seen one either! Oh wait, I'm Canadian...
@Vered - OK. I could get on board with the whole friendship theme. Though it's still a bit of a stretch for me.
@Shere1 - My maternity leave was ALL about Charmed reruns and Las Vegas reruns. LOL. And anytime you want to talk about RD Jr... we're on. He was total hotness in Iron Man.
you're hilarious. I saw it and blogged about it and hated it. SO you're not missing out.
I love what you did with the picture!
Am I the only 50 something that has never seen a episode of sex and the city?
Give me 'House' or Discovery Health Channel..
Thanks for the laughs.
I never got into that show either.
